About Our Logo

SC COGOP Women’s Ministry is now SISTERS UNITED

“SISTERS in Christ” is UNITED by one purpose, one focus, and one King.

Our logo signifies that “we are united by what Jesus did for us on the Cross”. We are one – “Sisters in Christ”- not separated by age, color, social class, culture, or personal beliefs – our differences make us beautiful.

If you look at the silhouette of the faces, they are all different and that was intentional. There are seven objects presented here and seven in Scripture is symbolic of completeness or fullness. No matter what your circumstances, we are never alone when we know the King – a community of believers.

A true sister is always there, she will love you even in your broken, dirty state – without judgment. The way of the cross is something we must walk for ourselves, but it is the Cross that unites us!

Scripture

Key Scripture:  1 Peter 2:4-5 (NLT)

“You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.  And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.”.

My sisters, we are like stones in a building that is being erected on a solid and immoveable cornerstone, which is Jesus Christ.  He is the sure foundation “a cornerstone chosen and precious” for those who have come to believe and trust in Him.  He is a “living stone” – not a figure that is dead or we cannot touch – but a living Presence, active among us.  And, like Him, we too are “living stones” who are “being built into a spiritual house” for the glory of God and according to God’s master plan.

How do we become living stones for Christ?

  • Our lives are to be solidly centered on Christ.

  • We are to have a willingness to be shaped and fitted to the role the Master Builder has in mind for us.

  • We are not meant to stand alone, but to be joined with others into a structure that is greater than its individual parts.

  • Keep in your mind that it is an honor to be chosen and used by God.  “You are a chosen race,” He tells them, “a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people.”
